I searched across Canada for a program that combined advanced laser technology with a deep, nuanced understanding of PMU and tattoo artistry. Finding a void in the market, I created this course to empower my fellow artists and/or even aestheticians new to PMU / tattoo laser removal. This training isn't just about operating a laser; it’s about the strategic planning required to prepare a client for their next chapter.

1. Beginner Pico Laser Training Course

Course Summary
Master the foundations of Pico laser technology with expert instruction from a seasoned permanent makeup master and laser removal treatment professional. This intensive one-day beginner course is designed for permanent makeup artists, estheticians, nurses and beauty practitioners who are new to laser treatments or looking to add safe, high-demand Pico laser services to their practice. You’ll gain hands-on confidence in machine handling, skin assessment, and precise Pico laser operations while learning the science behind picosecond pulses that deliver superior results with minimal downtime.

What You Will Learn

• Comprehensive skin understanding: Fitzpatrick scale, skin types, common concerns (permanent makeup, tattoos, fine lines, hyperpigmentation), contraindications, and pre/post-care protocols

• Laser machine fundamentals: How Pico lasers work, key differences from nanosecond lasers, and why picosecond technology is the gold standard

• Safe machine handling and operation: Proper setup, calibration, handpiece selection, fluence settings, spot size adjustment, and pulse control

• Client consultation and treatment planning: Realistic expectations, patch testing, and creating customized treatment plans

• Safety and best practices: Laser safety standards, protective equipment, emergency protocols, and maintaining a professional treatment environment

2. Advanced Pico Laser Training Course

Course Summary
Take your Pico laser skills to the highest professional level with this exclusive two-day advanced training. Designed for practitioners who already have basic laser experience (or have completed the Beginner course), this program focuses on expert-level machine mastery, advanced skin analysis, and real-world treatment protocols. You will work directly with live models under expert supervision to refine your technique, troubleshoot complex cases, and deliver exceptional results across a wide range of skin concerns.

What You Will Learn

• Advanced skin understanding: In-depth assessment of challenging skin types, combination concerns (melasma + scarring, tattoo removal + rejuvenation), and how to adjust protocols based on skin response

• Expert Pico laser machine operations: Fine-tuning parameters for optimal results, multi-pass techniques, stacking pulses, combination therapies, and maximizing the machine’s full potential

• Professional handling and clinical flow: Efficient treatment room setup, rapid handpiece changes, precise energy delivery, and maintaining speed while ensuring client comfort

• Live model practice: Two full days of hands-on treatments on real models (provided) covering pigmentation removal, tattoo fading, skin rejuvenation, and scar improvement

• Advanced troubleshooting & business integration: Managing complications, post-treatment complications, marketing your new skill set, and pricing premium Pico Laser Treatment packages

• Format: Small group, advanced theory + extensive live model practice (2 models) + one-on-one mentoring

• A model sourcing fee of $120 + HST applies if you need assistance sourcing a model to work on for the course.
